XI'AN, Nov. 17 (Xinhua) — The Xi'an-Yan'an High-Speed Railway (HSR), connecting Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province, with Yan'an, has entered trial operation, marking a major step toward full-scale operation.
The trial run began on Monday morning when test train 55302 departed Xi'an for Yan'an, moving from the joint debugging and testing stage to trial operation.
The first high-speed railway in the old revolutionary base area in northern Shaanxi Province, this line is 299.8 kilometers long. With a design speed of 350 km/h, the railway will reduce travel time between Xi'an and Yan'an from 2.5 hours to approximately 1 hour once operational.
Yan'an City has great historical significance as the revolutionary base of the Chinese Communist Party from 1937 to 1947. -0-
