BEIJING, November 17 (Xinhua) — China earnestly calls on the Japanese side to take back its erroneous words and fulfill its commitments to China with concrete actions, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Monday.
The diplomat made this statement at a regular press conference, commenting on statements by some Japanese politicians who called China's reaction to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi's recent statements regarding Taiwan "excessive."
China has repeatedly stated its firm and just position on Takaichi's erroneous statements related to Taiwan, Mao Ning noted. The official spokesperson reiterated that these statements seriously contradict the spirit of the four Sino-Japanese political documents and fundamentally undermine the political foundation of relations between the two countries.
