Zagreb, November 13 (Xinhua) — A Turkish Air Tractor AT-802F agricultural aircraft, making a circuitous flight in Croatia, crashed Thursday in the village of Krivi Put in western Croatia. The pilot, the only person on board, was killed, local media reported.
According to Croatian broadcaster HRT, the plane crashed around 5:00 PM local time / 4:00 PM GMT. The aircraft was reportedly engulfed in flames when rescuers arrived at the crash site around 6:00 PM after receiving a call about the incident.
After extinguishing the fire, rescuers reportedly discovered the pilot's charred body.
According to available information, the plane was flying from the city of Rijeka in western Croatia to the Air Navigation Technical Centre in Zagreb, with a subsequent return to Rijeka.
According to flight tracking website Flightradar, the plane belonged to the Turkish Directorate General of Forestry. There is currently no precise information about the reason for the Turkish plane's presence in Croatian airspace.
