BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping has called on young Sinologists to serve as envoys in promoting mutual understanding between Chinese and foreign civilizations.
Xi Jinping made the call in a reply letter to 61 young Sinologists from 51 countries who will attend the World Conference on the Chinese Language, scheduled for November 14-16 in Beijing.
Xi Jinping commended the fact that young Sinologists not only love the Chinese language and culture, but also play an active role in promoting research in Sinology and mutual learning between civilizations.
Sinology is the common spiritual heritage of all humanity, he emphasized in his response letter.
Xi Jinping expressed the hope that young Chinese scholars will continue to present a true, multidimensional, and panoramic China to the world, contributing their wisdom and strength to building a community with a shared future for mankind.
