Hanoi, November 12 (Xinhua) — Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Trinh on Wednesday instructed the State Bank of Vietnam to consider providing preferential loans to support households and businesses following recent floods and typhoons, Voice of Vietnam radio reported.
In a statement released Wednesday, the prime minister called on authorities in affected provinces and cities in the central and southern regions to compile damage reports following Typhoons Fengshen and Kalmaegi, which struck the country in late October and early November.
The Prime Minister demanded that local authorities mobilize their efforts to help residents rebuild their homes. The work must be completed by December 31, 2025, so that people can celebrate the New Year in their new homes, he stated.
Pham Minh Trinh also ordered the immediate restoration of basic infrastructure, especially schools, health centers and hospitals, to ensure the continuity of education and health care. –0–
