Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with Stavropol Krai Governor Vladimir Vladimirov. The main topics of discussion were the development of the region's agro-industrial complex and environmental protection.
The regional governor reported on the progress of seasonal fieldwork. In Stavropol Krai, harvesting of some agricultural crops, including corn, is still ongoing.
Vladimir Vladimirov also noted that winter crop sowing is currently underway in Stavropol Krai, with 1.6 million hectares already sown, or 86% of the planned area. All seeds are domestically bred.
More than 5 billion rubles have been allocated from the federal budget to support the region's agricultural producers this year.
Dmitry Patrushev noted the importance of providing farmers with all necessary resources, including fuel and lubricants.
The meeting focused on environmental issues and increasing forest cover in the region. Stavropol is one of Russia's sparsely forested regions, with forested land accounting for only 1.6% of the territory. Nevertheless, the region is consistently implementing measures to preserve and restore forests as part of the national "Environmental Well-Being" project.
