BEIJING, November 11 (Xinhua) — Foreign trade through the Ereenhot Port of North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region reached 37.34 billion yuan in the first ten months of 2025, according to a statement posted on the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region government's official website.
In particular, the import volume amounted to 18.08 billion yuan, and the export volume amounted to 19.26 billion yuan.
The Ereenhot checkpoint is a key hub on the central route for international rail freight transport between China and Europe. Currently, 74 China-Europe rail routes pass through this checkpoint. These lines reach over 140 cities and stations in more than 10 countries in Asia and Europe.
Since the beginning of this year, the Ereen-Hoto border crossing has continued to improve infrastructure construction and enhance service quality, increase cargo handling capacity for rail and road transport, optimize inspection processes, and facilitate simplified customs clearance.
As a reminder, in the first three quarters of this year, the number of China-Europe freight trains passing through the Ereenhot Port in both directions reached 2,904, an increase of 11.4 percent compared to the same period last year, according to customs data. The composition of export goods carried by China-Europe trains was optimized, with the share of high-value-added goods such as automobiles, machinery, and electronics accounting for over 40 percent.
