BANGKOK, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — Thai Prime Minister Anuthin Chanvirakoon on Monday ordered the suspension of the joint peace declaration with Cambodia following a landmine explosion that injured two Thai soldiers near the Thai-Cambodian border.
The decision came weeks after the two countries signed a joint peace declaration at the ASEAN summit on October 26.
Speaking to reporters, Anuthin Chanvirakoon said the planned transfer of Cambodian soldiers held as prisoners of war has been postponed.
According to the Thai army, the incident occurred Monday morning near the Preah Vihear temple complex. The explosion injured two Thai soldiers on patrol, one of whom lost his right ankle.
