BEIJING, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) — China on Monday added the United States, Mexico and Canada to a list of countries that require special export licenses for certain precursor chemicals.
The new rules, which took effect immediately, were issued jointly by the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Emergency Management, the General Administration of Customs and the National Medical Products Administration.
The amendment includes a revision of the catalog of precursors intended for export to specific countries or regions, as well as the catalog of specific countries or regions, to which the United States, Mexico, and Canada have been officially added.
In addition, the agency's catalog included 13 specific types of precursor chemicals that are specifically targeted for export to these three North American countries.
Exporters must now apply for a license when exporting eligible chemicals to the United States, Mexico or Canada. -0-
