Samotlorneftegaz, one of Rosneft's key production assets, allocated more than 15 billion rubles to implement environmental programs and activities in the first nine months of 2025.

The company implements a number of environmental programs, including methane emission monitoring, land reclamation, safe industrial waste disposal, stocking Siberian rivers with fish, and reforestation.

For several years, Samotlorneftegaz has been implementing a gas investment program, including a phased upgrade of its gas infrastructure to maintain a minimum 98% efficiency level for associated petroleum gas (APG). A modern, comprehensive system for collecting, treating, compressing, and transporting gas has been developed at the Samotlor field. The majority of the gas is sent to gas processing plants and local consumers.

Samotlorneftegaz monitors greenhouse gas emissions at its production facilities. Since the beginning of the year, over 2,600 measurements have been taken at oil and gas treatment facilities and 230 at mechanized wells using modern equipment such as infrared cameras, laser scanners, and ultrasonic detectors. Unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with laser gas analyzers have been used to inspect gas pipelines with a total length of approximately 506 kilometers.

Since the beginning of the year, 152 kilometers of oilfield pipelines have been built as part of the pipeline reliability improvement program. To ensure the pipeline system's strength, modern domestic coating materials for the internal surfaces of pipes and new technologies for processing welded joints have been used. Inhibitor corrosion protection is being implemented on the existing pipeline fleet.

Samotlorneftegaz has fully completed the reclamation of its "historical heritage" lands. Technical and biological restoration work was carried out year-round thanks to the extensive use of its own winter reclamation and phytomelioration technologies. Samotlorneftegaz carried out most of the work through its internal environmental services team, using specialized equipment for working in marshy areas.

Another of the company's most important tasks is maintaining the ecological balance within its production area by replenishing biological resources. Approximately 5,000 Siberian sterlet fry and over 750,000 muksun and nelma have been released into the Ob-Irtysh basin. In total, over 20 million valuable fish fry have been released into the northern rivers in recent years thanks to these campaigns.

The company has planted over 1.8 million coniferous trees in Yugra's forestry districts over the past decade, covering an area of over 520 hectares. In addition to forested areas, in 2025, the company's volunteers also landscaped parks in Nizhnevartovsk.

Preserving the environment for future generations is a key focus of Rosneft's strategy. The company and its subsidiaries are implementing a number of comprehensive programs to preserve biodiversity, conserve natural resources in the regions where they operate, and strive to ensure environmentally friendly production and minimize environmental impact.
