ROME, November 4 (Xinhua) — Part of the Torre dei Conti tower, a medieval structure undergoing restoration in central Rome, collapsed on Monday, injuring four construction workers, local media reported.

According to the ANSA news agency, the incident occurred during restoration work. The second collapse occurred while firefighters were conducting a rescue operation. A large cloud of dust rose, but no emergency services personnel were injured.

Four workers were injured in the incident. A 64-year-old man was rescued from the rubble and taken to the hospital in critical condition with a traumatic brain injury, while another worker remained unconscious but conscious, medical sources reported. Two other workers suffered minor injuries and refused hospitalization.
