MACAO, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) — Wang Huning, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), has sent a congratulatory letter to the 18th World Conference of Chinese-Origin Businessmen, which opened in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Monday.
Wang Huning noted that entrepreneurs of Chinese origin around the world have actively participated in the implementation of reform and opening-up and socialist modernization in China, and have made significant contributions to promoting the country's socio-economic development, as well as to the development of trade and economic ties and people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries.
Noting that China will steadily expand its high-level opening-up to the outside world and turn China's new development into new opportunities for all countries, Wang Huning called on Chinese entrepreneurs to give full play to their advantages and play a unique role in promoting trade and economic cooperation, scientific and technological exchanges, and mutual enrichment among various civilizations.
The 18th World Conference of Chinese-Origin Businessmen was attended by more than 4,000 people, including high-ranking officials, representatives of Chinese-Origin entrepreneurs and scholars from more than 50 countries and regions. -0-
