Beijing, November 1 (Xinhua) — The "joint patrol" in the South China Sea (SCS), organized by the Philippines and involving countries outside the region, has seriously undermined peace and stability in the region, Tian Junli, spokesman for the People's Liberation Army's Southern Zone Combat Command (SZCC), said on Saturday.
He made the statement after the Philippines conducted what it called "joint patrols" from October 30 to 31.
“Recent events once again confirm that the Philippines is acting as a troublemaker in the South China Sea and regional stability,” the spokesman said.
He stressed that the PLA's South China Sea (SCS) had mobilized forces to closely monitor and track the activities, adding that such activities aimed at fomenting unrest in the South China Sea "are under our strict control."
Tian Junli also noted that the Southwest Coastal Coastal Region units are on high alert and will resolutely defend the state's sovereignty, as well as its maritime rights and interests. -0-
