At the invitation of President Lee Jae-myung of the Republic of Korea (ROK), President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China will visit Gyeongju, ROK, from October 30 to November 1 to attend the 32nd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and pay a state visit to the ROK.
Xu Qingqi, Chairman of the Council of the Malaysian Centre for New Asia Strategic Studies, said the Asia-Pacific region is the most dynamic region in the global economy. China advocates for an open global economy and puts forward initiatives to promote economic globalization through multilateral platforms such as APEC. He added that this helps strengthen global confidence in economic globalization and prosperous development.
Joseph Matthews, Senior Professor at Beltay International University of Cambodia, noted that the formation of a community of shared destiny in the Asia-Pacific region and the joint development of an Asia-Pacific partnership based on mutual trust, inclusiveness, cooperation, and mutual benefit have already become the consensus of many countries in the region. This contributes to the stable development and sustainable prosperity of the Asia-Pacific region in this turbulent world, thereby contributing to the overall development of the global community.
Oleg Timofeev, Associate Professor at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University), stated that the 2026 APEC summit will be held in China. He hopes that China will make a new contribution to the prosperity and development of the Asia-Pacific region by uniting even more powerful forces to advance the construction of a community with a shared future in the Asia-Pacific region.
