BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) — Cross-border e-commerce volume in Horgos, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, grew 490.2 percent year-on-year to 29.358 billion yuan in the first nine months of 2025, providing a strong impetus to the opening up of the country's border areas, the Xinjiang Daily reported.
As an example, the newspaper cited the local Zhongguang Zhida International Trade Company, which specializes in international road transport covering Russia, Central Asia, and Europe. During the reporting period, this company's export volume exceeded $2.7 billion, reaching a record high. This figure is expected to reach $3.5 billion by 2025.
According to the company's deputy general director, Jiang Yong, this success was achieved thanks to Khorgos's "intelligent customs clearance system," which allows the entire process from loading containers to export from the country to take just four hours.
According to data, thanks to its developed infrastructure and high-quality comprehensive services, the Khorgos Cross-Border E-Commerce Industrial Park has already housed more than 40 enterprises, and the industry's agglomeration effect is becoming increasingly noticeable.
Zhu Hongjian, Deputy Director of the Horgos City Commerce Bureau, said that the city is focusing on providing enterprises with one-stop foreign trade services, from warehousing logistics to financial services, promoting the construction of a comprehensive cross-border e-commerce pilot zone, and creating a favorable development ecosystem to promote high-level opening-up and high-quality development in Horgos. -0-
