KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 27 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang said Monday that China is willing to strengthen the alignment of development strategies with all parties, adhere to the principles of openness and cooperation, and continuously unleash economic potential to expand space for common development.
Speaking at the 28th ASEAN-China-Japan-Republic of Korea (ROK) Summit in Malaysia, Li Qiang first congratulated Timor-Leste on officially joining the ASEAN family.
According to him, over the past year, cooperation between ASEAN, China, Japan, and South Korea has generally maintained positive momentum, demonstrating the resilience and viability of the East Asian economy.

Li Qiang pointed out that East Asia has long been the world's fastest-growing economic region, creating one economic miracle after another—achievements that continue to inspire and fill us with pride.
The head of the Chinese government emphasized that openness and cooperation are valuable lessons learned from practice. They must be cherished and maintained to ensure that this experience remains a significant advantage and key to the success of the East Asian economy.
According to Li Qiang, the East Asian miracle is not a story of the past, but an ongoing story of the present.
The Premier called on stakeholders to create a favorable environment for regional development. He emphasized the need to fully safeguard the hard-won peace and stability in East Asia, maintain a commitment to resolving disputes through dialogue and consultation, uphold free trade and the multilateral trading system, oppose all forms of protectionism, and consistently promote regional economic integration.
Li Qiang called for deepening cooperation in industrial and supply chains, leveraging each country's strengths, promoting collaborative interaction, enhancing the division of labor and cooperation, and improving the efficiency of the flow of production factors.
He emphasized that China is ready to work with all parties to implement the statement on further strengthening regional economic and financial cooperation adopted at the meeting and to develop practical cooperation in areas such as finance, trade, and food security, creating new bright spots and growth points in cooperation.
The Premier also called for joint efforts to create new driving forces for development. He stated that it is necessary to strengthen support for scientific and technological innovation, conduct joint research, continuously enhance innovation capacity "from zero to one," and improve the effectiveness of iterations "from one to n" in order to strengthen the role of innovation as a driving force for development.
