Moscow, October 27 (Xinhua) — The International Cooperation Forum, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of public diplomacy in Russia, was held in Moscow on October 26-27. It brought together over 2,000 experts, public figures, and journalists from 100 countries and regions. Delegates discussed cooperation in culture, science, education, and the role of public diplomacy in overcoming contemporary challenges.

In his address to the forum participants, Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized the resilience of public diplomacy and its role in building a multipolar world order. "The efforts of public diplomacy undoubtedly contribute to ensuring Russia's legitimate interests in the international arena and strengthen our cooperation with like-minded partners and allies in order to build a just, democratic, and multipolar world order," the Russian leader noted in his address.

In his video address, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov recalled that direct contacts between people have consistently contributed to strengthening the atmosphere of friendship and trust between peoples representing different civilizations, religions, and cultures. "Today, when the global situation remains tense, people-to-people exchanges and dialogue between scientists, cultural figures, and athletes are particularly important in improving the situation," he stated, adding that Russia continues to develop as a modern state interested in broad, depoliticized international cooperation.

In turn, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo, Yevgeny Primakov, expressed hope that the forum would become “the beginning of a new century of cooperation, a century of open hearts, dialogue, and open borders.” –0–
