UN, April 1 /Xinhua/ — The UN Security Council will focus its attention on the Middle East in April, considering issues related to Iran, Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and the West Bank. This was announced on Wednesday by Jamal Fares Al-Rowai, Bahrain's permanent representative to the UN and current Security Council president.

Speaking at a briefing on the Security Council's work programme for April, the diplomat said Bahrain's four main priorities during its membership in the Security Council are strengthening peace and stability, addressing traditional and emerging security threats, ensuring inclusiveness and participation, and promoting multilateralism.
