Chengdu, April 1 (Xinhua) — Chinese Premier Li Qiang stressed the importance of efforts to promote the construction of a new type of power grid and accelerate the adjustment and optimization of the energy structure.

Li Qiang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, made the announcement during an inspection tour of Sichuan Province (southwest China) from March 30 to April 1.

He visited the urban districts of Chengdu and Deyang, where he inspected enterprises engaged in the development of new energy sources and the production of related equipment.

The head of the Chinese government noted that advances in photovoltaic technology in recent years have increased the efficiency of solar energy use. Li Qiang called for strong support for enterprises in their innovation, increased investment in research and development, overcoming bottlenecks in key technologies, integrating various application scenarios, and accelerating the large-scale adoption of new technologies.
