BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) — The first aircraft of Uzbekistan's Qanot Sharq Airlines, operating a direct flight from Tashkent to Hangzhou, arrived at Hangzhou Airport in the capital of East China's Zhejiang Province at 11:27 p.m. Beijing time on Tuesday, local media reported, citing the airport administration.
The plane, carrying 158 passengers, landed safely at the airport after a six-hour flight. Flights on this route are scheduled to arrive in Hangzhou at 11:10 PM on Tuesdays and Saturdays and return to Tashkent at 12:40 AM on Wednesdays and Sundays.
According to Zhou Jie, General Director of Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport, the first direct flight between Hangzhou and Tashkent, operated by Uzbekistan Airways, was launched at the end of 2024. Following the launch of the new route, the number of flights from Hangzhou to Central Asian countries will increase to 11 per week, making the city the most frequent in Eastern China.
