On April 1, the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra (MGSO), subordinate to the capital Department of Culture, is turning 37. This spring, the band will hold a series of concerts, which can be attended using the service Mosbilet.

The Moscow State Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1989. Today, the ensemble is an active participant in the Russian symphony scene and regularly performs at leading concert venues in the country and abroad.

A new chapter in the orchestra's history began in 2017, when pianist and conductor Ivan Rudin became its artistic director. In recent years, the ensemble has significantly expanded its touring geography and actively participates in major festivals and international projects. These include the Trans-Siberian Art Festival, the international project "Russian Seasons," the International Classical Music Festival "Cantata," and the International Music Festival ArsLonga. The orchestra also participated in Montserrat Caballé's final concert tour, and in 2019, it debuted at the Berlin Philharmonic.

The current season has been a busy one for the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra. The musicians performed at the 9th International Chersonesos Opera and Ballet Festival in Sevastopol, performing Sergei Rachmaninoff's opera Aleko with singer Ildar Abdrazakov. They also opened the Days of Russian Culture in Minsk and participated in a production of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera The Queen of Spades. During the season, the orchestra toured Kuwait, Belarus, and several Russian cities, including St. Petersburg, Sochi, Samara, Voronezh, Lipetsk, and Svetlogorsk.

This spring, a series of concerts will be held at Zaryadye Hall, dedicated to Sergei Prokofiev's anniversary.

The audience will hear the following famous works by the composer:

Tenor Ivan Gyngazov will perform the title role. Joining him on stage will be the winners of the OperaCall project, a program supporting young opera singers.

Almost 12 million people have already used the Mosbilet service.

The orchestra will celebrate its birthday with a concert at Zaryadye Hall. The date symbolically coincides with Sergei Rachmaninoff's birthday.
