SHANGHAI, April 1 (Xinhua) — The inaugural Almaty-Shanghai flight of Kazakhstan's Air Astana landed at Shanghai Pudong International Airport early Monday morning, marking the airline's launch of a route from the Kazakh city to the Chinese metropolis of Shanghai.

According to Shanghai Airport Authority Co., Ltd., Air Astana operates Almaty-Shanghai-Almaty flights three times a week using Airbus A321LR aircraft. Specifically, flights from Almaty to Shanghai operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, and from Shanghai to Almaty on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Air Astana currently operates seven routes between Kazakhstan and China, including scheduled flights linking Almaty with Beijing, Shanghai, Urumqi, and Guangzhou, a scheduled Astana-Beijing-Astana flight, and charter flights on the Almaty-Sanya and Astana-Sanya routes.
