BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) — The opening ceremony of the China-Kazakhstan Year of Cultural Exchanges was held at the Central Opera House in Beijing on Tuesday.
The event was attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China Sun Yeli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan /RK/ Aida Balayeva, as well as representatives of the embassies of various countries in China.
During the event, artists from both countries presented folk and popular songs and dances, instrumental music, fashion shows, and other arts, fully demonstrating the traditional and modern cultural and artistic achievements of China and Kazakhstan, as well as the results of cultural exchanges between the two countries.
As it has become known, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan are organizing events as part of the 2026 China-Kazakhstan Year of Cultural Exchange. Special performances, thematic exhibitions, joint archaeological projects, art seminars, and other events are planned throughout the year.
