Moscow, March 31 /Xinhua/ — The Russian government has approved an updated list of road maintenance activities for 2026-2031, the cabinet press service reported on Tuesday.

According to the updated plan, Russia plans to build and reconstruct over 2,000 kilometers of federal and regional roads by the end of 2031. Specifically, road construction projects included in the master plans for the development of cities in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic zone are planned for implementation.

The total volume of federal funding for the activities included in the plan for 2026-2031 will amount to 9.1 trillion rubles (almost 112 billion US dollars).

At a meeting with his deputies on Tuesday, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin noted that the development of a high-quality and safe road network in the country creates a solid foundation for economic growth and the successful resolution of social issues.
