YANGON, March 31 (Xinhua) — U Nyo Soe was elected vice president by a group of military representatives from both houses of the Assembly of the Union (parliament) of Myanmar on Tuesday, the National Defence and Security Council Information Service reported.

Earlier in the day, groups of lawmakers from the House of Representatives (lower house) and the Assembly of Nationalities (upper house) of parliament elected Min Aung Hlaing and Nan Ni Ni Ei as vice presidents of the country.

The Presidential Electoral College, consisting of all the representatives of the Assembly of the Union, will then choose the President from among the three Vice Presidents. –0–
