Nairobi, March 30 (Xinhua) — The death toll from floods caused by recent heavy rains in several parts of Kenya has risen to 110, authorities confirmed.
More than 30 counties have been hit by floods and other natural hazards caused by heavy rains, leading to the hardship of communities and severe damage to critical infrastructure, Kenya's Ministry of Home Affairs and National Government Coordination said.
“Nairobi has recorded the highest number of fatalities, 37 people, followed by the Eastern Region with 26 fatalities and the Rift Valley Region with 14,” the department said in a statement released Sunday in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. –0–
