Moscow, March 30 (Xinhua) — Russian MS-21, SJ-100, and Il-114 aircraft completed tests in natural icing conditions in the Russian city of Arkhangelsk, the Rostec state corporation announced on Monday.
"Specialists from the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of the Rostec State Corporation) have completed the additional certification flight testing program for the MS-21, SJ-100, and Il-114 aircraft in natural icing conditions. The flights were conducted from Talagi International Airport in Arkhangelsk from March 12 to 30," the statement reads.
"The SJ-100 completed nine flights under the additional certification test program in natural icing conditions, the MS-21 completed six, and the Il-114 completed eight. The flight test program was fully completed. The results showed that the MS-21, SJ-100, and Il-114 fully comply with Russian and international aviation standards when flying in natural icing conditions," Rostec clarified.
The MS-21 and SJ-100 prototype aircraft have already arrived at their base at Zhukovsky Airport near Moscow, where they will continue their main certification flight test program. The Il-114 has also completed checks in Arkhangelsk and is preparing to return.
