The design bureau of the equipment and network operation and repair service of the Tutaev Motor Plant, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in the Yaroslavl region, has designed a new universal support for V8 and P6 engines.

As a reminder, TMZ PJSC is developing production of a new engine. The KAMAZ subsidiary is implementing the first stage of the project "Organization of Production of R6 Engines with a Displacement of 13 Liters." Production of the new engine is a strategic focus for the plant in 2026. The first serial delivery of the new product to the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant assembly line is scheduled for July. Construction work is currently underway at the R6 engine production site and is expected to be completed in May. Preparations for production within the project are also underway in other areas, one of which is the manufacture of a universal support for the new product.

The stands are designed for transporting engines to their main customer, the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant. The first pilot batches of the new engines were delivered to PTZ on specialized wooden stands.

"On the tractor assembly line, it was necessary to install additional engine mounting brackets to the tractor frame. The upgraded reversible metal stand, previously designed for the V8 engine, allows the R6 to be transported directly on these brackets," explained Natalia Kolyaskina, head of the SEiROiS design bureau.

To make the stand universal, it was equipped with supports that can be used to mount an R6 engine. This means the new stand can accommodate both R6 and V8 engines. The stand consists of a metal frame with wooden supports covered with geomembrane fabric for safe engine transport.

As before, the motor can be transported on a stand using a forklift; when unmounted, the container is stackable. Since the stands are returnable, each one has an individual number for tracking and a plate indicating its gross and net weight. The stands are manufactured by the non-standardized equipment and machine tool shop.
