TAIYUAN, March 29 (Xinhua) — Three people were killed and 23 others were injured in a fire that broke out in a high-rise building in Taiyuan, north China's Shanxi Province, on Saturday evening, local authorities said.
According to sources in the Taiyuan city government, the fire broke out at around 8:00 pm local time in the Xiaodian district.
Nine of the injured were seriously injured, the propaganda department of the Xiaodian District CPC Committee reported.
Further investigation into the causes of the fire is currently underway, while work to eliminate the consequences is underway. -0-
