Pyongyang, March 29 (Xinhua) — Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), visited a major military training base to observe special forces exercises, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on Sunday.

At a base directly under the Operations Directorate of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, he instructed the country's armed forces to ensure full readiness in line with the trends of modern warfare. "The more sweat we shed during peacetime exercises, the less blood we shed on the battlefield," Kim Jong-un declared, calling this statement an ironclad truth.

The North Korean leader outlined his plan for reorganizing the special forces and subsequent measures, KCNA reports.

The purpose of the exercises was to assess the physical and combat readiness of special forces personnel, the agency reported.
