Paris, March 28 (Xinhua) — An attempted bombing attempt at a Bank of America branch in Paris early Saturday morning was thwarted, French media reported.
According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, the suspect was detained immediately after planting an improvised explosive device at the entrance to the bank's office. French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez stated on the social media platform X that this "act of terrorist violence" was thwarted thanks to the prompt action of the Paris Prefecture of Police.
France's National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor's Office has assumed responsibility for the case.
