Tehran, March 27 (Xinhua) — A yellowcake (uranium concentrate) plant in Yazd Province, central Iran, was hit by US and Israeli airstrikes on Friday, but no radiation leak has been detected so far, several media outlets reported, citing the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran.

The plant, which began operations in May 2023, produces yellowcake, a powdered uranium concentrate obtained from leach solutions and an intermediate stage in the processing of uranium ores.

Separately, Iran's official news agency IRNA reported on Friday that two people were killed and two others wounded in US-Israeli strikes on a cement factory in the southwestern province of Fars.
