Bishkek, March 27 (Xinhua) — Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday to discuss current issues of bilateral cooperation, the Kyrgyz president's press service reported.

The heads of state reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations in the spirit of alliance and strategic partnership, noting the high level of political dialogue between the two countries.

"The two leaders also exchanged views on key areas of cooperation, including trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian affairs," the statement said, adding that specific international issues were also discussed.
