Astana, March 27 (Xinhua) — The Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) expressed serious concern over the developments in the Middle East and around Iran, calling on all parties to exercise restraint, Kazinform reported on Thursday.
The statement emphasizes the inadmissibility of the use of force and the need to resolve existing disputes exclusively by peaceful means based on dialogue, mutual respect, and consideration of the interests of all parties in accordance with the principles of international law and the UN Charter.
The CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council also noted the importance of ensuring Iran's sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, expressing solidarity with the country's government and people.
Furthermore, the parliamentarians called on the United Nations and the UN Security Council to take immediate action to prevent the erosion of international peace and security. The statement also expressed condolences to the families of the victims.
