BEIJING, March 27 (Xinhua) — Profits at China's major industrial enterprises rose 15.2 percent year-on-year in the first two months of 2026, according to data released Friday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

According to the agency, in January-February, the total profit of major industrial enterprises – those with annual operating income of at least 20 million yuan (about 2.9 million US dollars) – amounted to 1.02 trillion yuan.

Since the beginning of 2026, Chinese regions and government departments have stepped up the implementation of more proactive and effective macroeconomic policies, focusing on the integrated use of existing and new instruments. As a result, industrial profit growth has accelerated, with most industries seeing profit growth, according to the National Statistical Office.
