Moscow has entered the top three cities in the world for the number of cultural events and attractions. This was reported on its channel in MAX messenger Sergei Sobyanin reported.

The capital is rightfully considered Russia's main cultural center. Last year, the city set a new record: the number of visits to Moscow's cultural institutions and parks exceeded 340 million. Culture and recreation parks were visited 282.5 million times, cultural centers and libraries 26.3 million times, museums and exhibition halls nearly 19 million times, theaters over five million times, concert venues 2.4 million times, and the circus 900,000 times.

The 2024 "Experience Economy Analysis" study conducted by the Agency for Creative Industries showed that tourists visiting Moscow primarily remember cultural heritage and architecture (33 percent), museums and exhibitions (26 percent), parks (22 percent), and theater performances and concerts (17 percent).

In addition, Sergei Sobyanin approved the Moscow Government's key cultural objectives for 2026, including:

— completion of the creative cluster on the premises of the Moskino film factory, including the opening of a phygital arena for multi-format events, a technology and innovation center, and a unique pavilion for underwater filming;

— continuation of the comprehensive improvement of Gorky Park, Sokolniki Park and the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve, implementation of improvement works at the Kuzminki-Lyublino Museum-Reserve, the Ostankino estate, the N.E. Bauman Garden, the Yuri Luzhkov Park, the Moskvoretsky and Lefortovo Parks, as well as the Krasnaya Presnya Park;

— continuation of work on the modernization of the Moscow State Academic Operetta Theatre, the Moscow Oleg Tabakov Theatre (Malaya Sukharevskaya Square, Building 5), the Mossovet State Academic Theatre and the Moscow Academic Satire Theatre (Armen Dzhigarkhanyan’s Progress Stage);

— holding the International Open Festival “Theater Boulevard”;

— continued work to attract foreign and Russian museums to the creation of large-scale exhibition projects in Moscow, including the international exhibition "Terracotta Warriors: The Legacy of the First Emperor" at the State Historical Museum;

— opening of new Biocluster sites: pavilion No. 17 “World of Dinosaurs”, pavilion No. 312 “Museum of Life”, a greenhouse-laboratory, as well as pavilion No. 29 “Floratopia” after re-exposition;

— opening of the all-season ethnographic cultural and entertainment complex "City of Architecture" in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve;

— revival of the historic concert venue “Chaliapin Stage” in Sokolniki Park;

— the opening of the second phase of the creative cluster at the Skolkovo Innovation Center, a site for companies developing technological solutions in the field of media and animation.
