On Culture Workers' Day, Sergei Sobyanin traditionally presented awards to artists.
"Culture is everything to Moscow. It's our soul, our core. It's our beloved artists, our beloved writers, our beloved composers—it's what makes up both our country and our city. Of course, culture's role is always significant, but when the country is undergoing trials, like today's special military operation, its role is even more significant. Without the spiritual unification of our country, victory is impossible. I am grateful to our artists who have visited special military operation zones and border regions hundreds of times, performing for soldiers and wounded residents. This is great risk, but it's selfless and important work," said Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, Moscow always invests in the development of its cultural resources, building new museums and theaters, reconstructing old and creating new concert venues, developing public spaces, cultural parks, and art schools.
For active participation in the preparation and holding of international events with the participation of the Chairman of the Russian Government, the Government of the Russian Federation expressed its gratitude to Ivan Rudin, General Director of the Zaryadye Moscow Concert Hall.
"Moscow is truly a unique city. Here, culture lives not only in architectural monuments and ensembles, not only in museums. Masterpieces have been created here in historical monuments, masterpieces of our compatriots, our citizens. This year, we celebrate the 120th anniversary of Dmitri Shostakovich. Just the other day, it was Sergei Rachmaninoff's birthday. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's birthday is coming soon. And recently, we celebrated the birthday of Alexander Sergeyevich Zatsepin. Their masterpieces, celebrated throughout the world, are what unite the world. We are people who have been working in the cultural field since childhood, since the age of four or five. We are engaged in our work, so for us, this is not just a job; for us, it is a calling. We serve our work and our beloved Moscow," noted Ivan Rudin.
For his contribution to the development of Russian musical art and his long-standing creative work for the benefit of the city and Muscovites, Alexander Zatsepin, People's Artist of Russia and Chairman of the Expert Council of the Ekaterininsky Foundation for the Support of Culture and Art, was awarded the "For Impeccable Service to the City of Moscow" (50 years) badge of distinction.
"Today, the award 'For Impeccable Service to the City of Moscow' for 50 years was presented to the legendary composer Alexander Zatsepin, who recently turned 100. His magical music has captured the hearts of millions, graced films that have become classics, and has become truly popular," Sergei Sobyanin wrote on his channel in
