With the support of Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha (part of Rosneft), the 12th Russian Mas-Wrestling Championship was held in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), marking the Year of Unity of the Peoples of the country. This traditional martial art, originating in the culture of the peoples of the North, is included in the All-Russian Register of Sports.
More than 150 of the strongest athletes from 30 regions of Russia participated in this large-scale event. The competition included individual championships in various weight categories for men and women.
Mas-wrestling is a traditional Yakut sport that involves pulling a stick while seated. Victory requires not only exceptional physical strength and endurance, but also a high level of tactical preparation, coordination, and the ability to maintain utmost concentration under intense competition.
Mas-wrestling is extremely popular in Yakutia. This spectacular sport is gaining recognition not only in Russia but also worldwide, with national federations in 52 countries. The first World Championship in 2014 and the fourth World Championship in 2022 were held in Yakutsk, cementing the republic's status as the sport's global center. The winners of these competitions will earn the right to represent the country at the upcoming World Championship in Kazan.
Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha successfully implements social and charitable projects in the region where it operates. For example, the oil company supported the IV Congress of Reindeer Herders of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) in Yakutsk in 2025. The 22nd Spartakiad in national sports, "Manchaary Games," was held with the Company's participation in the village of Ytyk-Kyuel in the Tattinsky District, attracting over seven thousand athletes, volunteers, and spectators.
Supporting national cultural preservation projects in Russia's regions is a key focus of Rosneft's social policy. The company and its subsidiaries in the regions where they operate support numerous social programs aimed at supporting the traditional way of life of indigenous peoples, developing educational initiatives, and fostering patriotism in the younger generation.
