Astana, March 25 (Xinhua) — Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin stated the significant potential for launching new joint projects between Russia and Kazakhstan in energy, industry, transport infrastructure, agriculture, and the digital economy. This was reported on Wednesday by the Kazinform news agency.
Arriving in Kazakhstan on a working visit, M. Mishustin recalled at intergovernmental talks that following Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's state visit to Russia last November, a comprehensive economic cooperation program through 2030 was approved, the implementation of which is being ensured by the governments of the two countries.
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, in turn, noted that Russia remains one of the country's key trade and economic partners. According to him, trade turnover between the two countries has approached $30 billion, and Russian business investment in Kazakhstan's economy over the past 20 years has exceeded $28 billion.
From March 25-27, M. Mishustin is in Kazakhstan on a working visit. During his visit, he will participate in a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the Digital Qazaqstan international digital forum in Shymkent.
