Prague, March 25 (Xinhua) — Representatives from business circles, industry and government bodies from China and the Czech Republic gathered in Prague on Tuesday for the launch of the 4th China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE), demonstrating growing interest in deepening trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

"The global economy is interconnected like never before. Supply chains are the backbone of international trade, and their sustainability, efficiency, and environmental friendliness are key to shared prosperity, innovation, and growth," said Richard Hlavatý, Director of the Department for Non-European Countries at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

According to him, the Czech Republic places great importance on its partnership with China, which encompasses sectors such as automotive, industrial manufacturing, technology, and logistics. Such events contribute to building trust, dialogue, and mutual development, as well as the development of efficient, sustainable, and environmentally friendly supply chains, the official added.

Chinese Ambassador to Prague Feng Biao pointed to the strong economic ties between the two countries, noting that the volume of bilateral trade in 2025 reached USD 44.2 billion, which accounts for more than 8 percent of the Czech Republic's foreign trade turnover.

He also emphasized the significant potential for trade and economic cooperation, pointing to new opportunities in areas such as energy, infrastructure, smart manufacturing, and new energy vehicles. The diplomat added that the two sides will continue to support business participation in major international exhibitions, including CISCE.
