Minsk, March 25 (Xinhua) — On Tuesday, Defense Ministers Viktor Khrenin and Ruslan Mukambetov of Belarus and Kyrgyzstan discussed the current state of military cooperation between the two countries and outlined ways to intensify it during talks in Minsk. The Belarusian Defense Ministry press service released the corresponding information.

During the negotiations, V. Khrenin noted the openness and high level of interaction between the two countries.

"Our cooperation is developing successfully, characterized by established, stable bilateral ties at the level of defense ministers and the armed forces as a whole. Cooperation between Belarus and Kyrgyzstan in the multilateral format within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is developing very fruitfully. Belarusian and Kyrgyz military personnel regularly participate in joint events," the minister emphasized.

According to him, a joint exercise with CSTO peacekeeping forces, "Indestructible Brotherhood 2026," and a special exercise with CSTO radiation, chemical, and biological defense and medical support forces, "Barrier 2026," are planned for October 2026 in Belarus. V. Khrenin emphasized that Belarus would be happy to welcome Kyrgyz military personnel as participants in these maneuvers.

In turn, R. Mukambetov stated that warm, friendly relations have developed between the two countries, with potential for expansion and strengthening. "We are interested in continuing the exchange of experience between specialists from our countries, in developing mutually beneficial cooperation, and we intend to develop it in all areas of mutual interest," R. Mukambetov emphasized.
