TEHRAN, March 25 (Xinhua) — Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday that its naval air defenses hit a U.S. F/A-18 Hornet fighter jet in the airspace over the country's southeast.

A statement published on the IRGC's official news portal Sepah News said the fighter jet was hit by IRGC Navy missiles over Chabahar District in Sistan and Baluchestan Province and crashed into the Indian Ocean.

The IRGC added that this is already the fourth American or Israeli fighter jet shot down by Iranian-designed air defense systems in the country's airspace. –0–
