Moscow, March 24 (Xinhua) – Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, congratulating him and the Uzbek people on the holiday of Navruz, the Kremlin press service reported.

"During a telephone conversation, Russian President Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and all citizens of Uzbekistan on the spring holiday of Navruz," the statement said.

As the press service noted, the phone call also included a detailed discussion of the implementation of several major joint projects in nuclear energy, industrial production, and transportation. Furthermore, they exchanged views on current international issues, including the conflict in the Middle East and the situation surrounding Ukraine.
