New Delhi, March 24 (Xinhua) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump held a phone conversation on Tuesday to discuss the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gore said.
As S. Gore wrote on the social network X, the leaders of the two countries “discussed the current situation in the Middle East, including the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open.”
On March 21, Narendra Modi also held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which they discussed the developments in the region. The Indian Prime Minister reiterated the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation and maintaining the openness and security of sea routes.
