Recently, along a stretch of the Jinjiang River near the Jiuyanqiao Bridge in Chengdu, flocks of herons, lined up against the current, stood motionless for long periods of time, searching for prey, attracting numerous residents who observed the spectacle and photographed the birds. These herons are reported to inhabit the banks of the Jinjiang River year-round and are living witnesses to the river's steady improvement in its ecological condition.
