Almaty, March 22 (Xinhua) — The Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle carrying the Progress MS-33 cargo spacecraft lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan on Sunday, Russia's state-owned space agency Roscosmos announced.
The rocket's launch took place at 3:00 PM Moscow time. During the flight, Progress MS-33 will complete 34 orbits of the Earth, and its journey to the International Space Station (ISS) will take 49 hours and 35 minutes. Docking with the Poisk module of the ISS's Russian segment is scheduled for 4:35 PM on March 24.
According to Roscosmos, the Progress MS-33 spacecraft will deliver more than 2.5 tons of cargo to the ISS. –0–
