BEIJING, March 22 (Xinhua) — The China Meteorological Administration released the first observation images from the Fengyun-4C satellite on Saturday, showing that the country has developed the capability to independently and control real-time monitoring from the Sun to the Earth.
According to the department, all six instruments installed on board the Fengyun-4C have achieved world-leading performance.
The initial images demonstrate Fengyun-4C's comprehensive capabilities in weather monitoring, atmospheric sounding, lightning detection, ionospheric observation, and solar activity tracking, laying a solid foundation for improving meteorological forecasting and space weather early warning.
Fengyun-4C was launched on December 27, 2025, from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan Province, southwest China, and is currently the world's most powerful geostationary meteorological satellite in terms of comprehensive sensing capabilities. -0-
