Daejeon, South Korea, March 21 (Xinhua) — Ten people were killed, 59 were injured and four others are missing in a fire at an auto parts factory in Daejeon, South Korea, fire officials said Saturday.

The fire broke out at around 1:17 p.m. local time on Friday, when approximately 170 workers were at the plant.

According to authorities, the first victim was found on the second floor in cardiac arrest, and nine more people were found on the third floor.

Firefighters began searching for the missing people late Friday after safety experts deemed the building's structure stable enough for rescue operations.
