BEIRUT, March 21 (Xinhua) — At least 20 people were killed and 57 others wounded in Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon over the past 24 hours, according to official figures released on Friday.
The latest casualties bring the death toll to 1,021 and the wounded to 2,641 since the fighting escalated on March 2.
Meanwhile, the number of displaced persons continues to grow rapidly as ongoing attacks force more and more residents to flee their homes. Currently, 134,616 displaced persons are housed in 644 centers across the country, according to data.
