WASHINGTON, March 19 (Xinhua) — If Iran attacks Qatar again, the US military will blow up Iran's South Pars gas field, US President Donald Trump warned in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday.
Trump's statement came after Iran struck Qatari liquefied natural gas facilities in retaliation for an Israeli strike on Wednesday on Iran's South Pars natural gas field in the Persian Gulf, which it shares with Doha.
“The United States knew nothing about this attack, and Qatar was not involved in it in any way and had no idea that it would happen,” said Donald Trump.
“Israel will no longer attack the vital and valuable South Pars gas field unless Iran makes the unwise decision to attack Qatar again,” the American president noted.
